Poseidon
Greek God and Lord of the Sea, Poseidon has many names, Earth-Shaker, Rain-God, Cloud Gatherer and Poseidon of the Thunderbolt. He is also known as Neptune in Roman culture.
Poseidon was a powerful, decisive, competitive and dignified. it was important to stay on his"good side" as he was a moody and irascible, quick to take offence and took revenge swiftly on those who angered him.
His names means "Husband of the Earth" and was once worshiped as a "fertility" god, but most of the myths involving poseidon cast him in a very negative light due to his violent nature.
Sailors pray to Poseidon for safe voyage and would sacrifice horses to the sea to please him.
